ROM CHECK FAIL 1.1 — native Linux port (full package, r2)

Second packaged release of the native Linux port. Gameplay and game code are
unchanged from v1.1-linux1; this revision refreshes the documentation and
    metadata:

    • Removed environment-specific wording from the MIDI notes.
    • Added a clear disclosure that the port was created with the help of
      generative AI tools.
    • Added source links for Farbs' 2016 ROM CHECK GO.
    • Rebuilt the archives so the updated notices ship with the packages.

    Downloads

    • romcheckfail-1.1-linux-x86_64.tar.gz — full x86_64 package; includes
      res/ and music/
    • romcheckfail-1.1-linux-x86_64.zip — same, ZIP format
    • romcheckfail-1.1-linux-src.tar.gz — source-only; no original assets or
      music
    • romcheckfail-1.1-linux-src.zip — same, ZIP format
    • SHA256SUMS — checksums for all four archives

Quick start with the full package:

    tar xzf romcheckfail-1.1-linux-x86_64.tar.gz
    cd romcheckfail-1.1-linux-x86_64
    ./install.sh
    ./run.sh

Requires Python 3 and its venv module. install.sh installs the pinned
    pygame-ce and numpy dependencies. Controls: arrow keys, Space, Esc to quit;
    F11 or Alt+Enter toggles fullscreen.

    Development note

This port was created with the help of generative AI tools, including the
OpenCode coding agent. The maintainer reviewed and tested the result and
    remains responsible for the release.

IMPORTANT: the original game is not technically open source

This release deliberately includes the original freeware assets under
res/ and OGG renditions of the original MIDI soundtrack. They are not open
    source
    and are not MIT-licensed.

In 2011 Farbs released only the Python script game.py under the MIT license.
The artwork, sound effects, music, level data, title, original binaries and the
original C++ engine were not released under an open-source license. The
original game as a whole remains proprietary freeware.

    • Port code and game.py: MIT; see LICENSE.
    • Original assets in res/: Copyright (C) Farbs, freeware only; see
      NOTICE.md.
    • Original Pycap / SexyAppFramework engine: not included. Pycap.py and
PycapRes.py are an independent pygame-ce reimplementation.
    • Music: rendered with FluidSynth and the GPL-2 TimGM6mb soundfont; the
soundfont is not included. See LICENSES/.

No ownership of Farbs' work is claimed, and no license to the original assets
    is granted by this release.

    Rights-holder request and takedown

If Farbs or any other rights holder asks for removal, I will immediately
take this release and the affected files offline.
    That includes the
full-package archives containing res/ and music/, and any affected
    repository content.

I can be contacted through the Forgejo account topy at
    https://git.t44.org/topy.

This full package is provided for personal preservation and compatibility,
not for sale. If a rights holder objects, the source-only package and the MIT
port code can remain without the affected files.

    Verification

See SHA256SUMS. The release tag is v1.1-linux2.
